How does Vitastiq work?

Vitastiq is an electronic device that is based on electro-acupuncture methodology (EAV).
Based on the experience of the EAV experts, including dr.Voll, it was noticed that the electrical resistance inside the acupuncture points changes if any imbalance is present in the body. This method is well known and it has been used since 1950’s.

Vitastiq is not a medical device. Our product measures the electrical resistance of an acupuncture point in relation to the reference point (reference point is determined during calibration). Therefore, the device does not directly check the concentration of the particular vitamin or mineral. It informs the user about their present body condition and it tracks the general vitamin/mineral trend.

Vitastiq shows qualitative information without defining quantitative values; we think it is good to track the general trend of the vitamin or mineral status and to act accordingly.

Please keep in mind that Vitastiq cannot prevent, treat or cure any medical problems nor can it diagnose medical conditions. It is a fitness gadget which helps in tracking users daily lifestyle and fitness activities. By tracking the progress regularly, Vitastiq can be a great companion for your healthy lifestyle.

Users should see the readings solely as an indicator of their general vitamin trend. Vitastiq needs to be used a few times a week for several weeks in order to obtain some average values indicating the general vitamin trend based on the EAV methodology. Officially, the accuracy of the traditional EAV devices is around 80%.

What is electro-acupuncture?

The EAV methodology is based on the theory of the acupuncture energy meridians and Dr. Reinhard Voll’s electro-acupuncture research (EAV or MSA).

Why is it so important to determine a reference point accurately?

To track the nutrient trend, Vitastiq uses the electrical resistance of an acupuncture point in relation to the reference point. The reference point, determined during calibration, remains the main guidance as you move to the other measuring points.

Each person has their own skin type. That is why the calibration is necessary. During the calibration step, your skin resistance will be determined. If you don’t calibrate properly or don’t use the same pressure on other points, your readings will be inconsistent.

Is the EAV method invasive?

No. It is completely painless and noninvasive.

What are Vitastiq readings?

Vitastiq provides qualitative information using 4 levels: low, mild, good and high. Your overview will contain some useful notes regarding the specific vitamins and minerals.

How to properly use Vitastiq?

It is common for the results to vary from one measurement to another at the beginning, as you probably don’t have any prior experience.
It is of utmost importance to properly get the reference point as the results depend on it. Also, holding the Vitastiq pen correctly is important, how hard you press a point, and finally skin moisture. Please go thourgh the video tutorials, in app tutorials and Quick Start Guide.

The hand that is holding the Vitastiq pen should not be in contact with any other part of your body. Otherwise the readings will be wrong.
Do not touch the nail root as this can affect the accuracy of the results as well.
Find the accurate spot within 1-2 mm within the area of the point showen on the screen. Slightly move the tip of the device within the point to find the highest value (do not change the pressure or loose contact with the skin while in process). Your highest value is the right value. Keep the same pressure on each point as you did at the beginning in the calibration process. Press it just enough so the tip retracts completely.

How often should I use Vitastiq?

The frequency of use depends on your personal needs, but several times per week would probably give you a better general picture regarding your vitamin and mineral trend.

Every condition has an impact on the person’s vitamin and mineral status. Time of the day, physical activity, food intake, stress level etc. As Vitastiq is not a medical device, but a vitamin tracker that indicates a general trend of a person’s vitamin levels, we advise that users don’t rely on a single session of readings. That is why we recomment to use Vitastiq throughout several weeks, in the same time of the day, in the same conditions to get the general trend of vitamin and mineral status.

 

What are the recommended levels of vitamins and minerals?

The body needs each individual nutrient in different amounts to be able to function properly. The Vitastiq application provides specific information on the recommended levels of certain vitamins and minerals.

Open the Vitastiq app > go to Tutorials > vitamins and minerals > here you will find information about each of 26 vitamins and minerals that Vitastiq tracks.

What is the difference between vitamins and minerals?

Vitamins are organic substances, which means that they are obtained from living organisms: animals, plants or substances that were once alive. Minerals are, unlike vitamins, inorganic substances. All vitamins are identified as key nutrients: the body cannot produce them and so they must be obtained through diet; minerals are similarly identified as key nutrients. Vitamins and minerals are equally essential for the healthy functioning of the body. Unlike minerals, vitamins are easily destroyed by heat, light, long storage, cooking and other food preparation processes.

Does Vitastiq have any impact on the improvement of the vitamin and mineral levels?

No. Vitastiq is not a medical device. It cannot prevent, treat or cure any medical problem nor can it diagnose a medical condition. Just like any other modern gadget, it helps you track your daily lifestyle and fitness activities.

Vitastiq informs you about your general vitamin and mineral trend. You should interpret the readings solely as an indicator of your general vitamin trend. Vitastiq needs to be used a few times a week for several weeks in order to obtain some average values indicating the general vitamin trend.

Can several people use Vitastiq?

Yes, several people can use Vitastiq. You can use the PROFILE section in the Vitastiq app to create multiple profiles.

However, Vitastiq 1 and 2 are self-measuring gadgets and are meant for independent use only (no one else should be touching the Vitastiq pen while you are using it to get the vitamin and mineral readings).

With Vitastiq Family you can take the readings of your family members or other people, thaks to the additional sonde that comes with the Vitastiq pen.

Is it possible to use the Vitastiq pen on several different smartphones?

Yes, Vitastiq can be used on several different smartphones after you install the Vitastiq app.

Can I use Vitastiq with a laptop, computer or iPad?

All Vitastiq products are compatible with Android smartphones or tablets and iOS iPhones or iPads. Witastiq doesn’t work with Windows devices and Mac computers.

Android devices need to have OS version 4.3 or newer.
iOS devices need to have OS version 9.0 or newer.

*Only devices supporting Bluetooth 4.0 or newer (BLE 4.0) can connect to Vitastiq 2 and Vitastiq Family.

Can I dismantle Vitastiq and is it possible to replace the battery?

Vitastiq should not be dismantled due to the potential electrical hazard; dismantling will result in breach of warranty.

Vitastiq contains a Lithium battery which cannot be replaced.

Is there a warranty on Vitastiq?

Vitastiq uses the standard EU-warranty period of two years. There is no additional warranty.

Can I help someone else use Vitastiq?

Vitastiq 1st edition and Vitastiq 2 are self-use products, which means one prson needs to use it independently.

Vitastiq Family allows you to take someone else’s  the readings. Learn more about Vitastiq Family.

Can I wash the Vitastiq pen?

Clean the product with a damp cloth. Do not use detergents and keep Vitastiq away from direct contact with water or heat sources. Such contact will irreversibly damage the electrodes.

If I am pregnant, can I use Vitastiq?

It is safe to use Vitastiq during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. However, the readings might be slightly less precise in some cases.

Can Vitastiq be used by people of all ages?

Vitastiq can be used by people of all ages. However, Vitastiq is a self-measuring product designed for independent use, and young children may not be able to perform self-measurement properly.

How to hold Vitastiq properly?

Hold Vitastiq as you would hold a pen. Gently press the tip of the Vitastiq pen against the measuring point on your body. The tip should retract completely. Keep the Vitastiq pen in an upright position. Approximately 10 seconds is required for each measuring point. For more detailed instructions, please check the Vitastiq tutorials.

How to store my Vitastiq?

Vitastiq can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not use detergents and keep Vitastiq away from direct contact with water or heat sources. Such contact will irreversibly damage the electrodes. You may store Vitastiq inside the box in which it came and keep it in a cool, dry location.

The device cannot be dismantled. Vitastiq contains a battery and should be disposed of properly.

If the Vitastiq app does not work properly, what should I do?

If the app does not work properly, please contact us at support@vitastiq.com. Feel free to submit any issues so we can suggest a solution.

Can I use the app without the Vitastiq pen?

To start using Vitastiq, you need to download the free Vitastiq app from Vitastiq website or visit the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play store for Android devices. When used without the Vitastiq pen, the app offers a tour, information about vitamins and minerals and tutorials. More information is available on vitastiq.com.

Why do my results vary within a short period of time?

The levels of vitamins and minerals soluble in water may change on a daily basis. However, it is also possible that your reference point or an acupuncture point wasn’t determined correctly. It is important to learn how to find each measuring point properly. Hold your Vitastiq pen upright and press the tip on the measuring point vertically. Move the tip carefully to determine the correct position for that measuring point.

Meanwhile, our recommendation is to use Vitastiq at about the same time of the day each time (for example, between meals, before any physical activity, before or after work…) because the readings can be affected by different factors, such as food intake, fitness activities, stress, etc. In other words, the vitamin and mineral levels in the body change constantly. Another factor is the way they dissolve inside the body.

Can I take the readings at the same measuring point more than once during one session?

If you think the reading of a certain vitamin or mineral is incorrect, you may try again. Simply go back to that vitamin or mineral bar in the app and tap on it.

After you select Home in the upper right corner of the Overview screen, you won’t be able to repeate the readings from that session.

How many readings can Vitastiq app save?

Vitastiq app will save each of your readings.

Can I send my readings by email?

Yes, the Vitastiq application offers the possibility to send your readings by email, and you can forward your report to any email address.

You can send your previous redings from the History section, or directly after taking the readings from the summary page.

You can also send your readings from the user web portal My.Vitastiq.com . In the upper left menu, under My Reports you will find all your readings and you can search them by Profile name.

If my vitamin and mineral readings are online, can someone access my private data?

We value and respect your privacy. Your personal information will not be shared with a third party or used for purposes other than proper maintenance of the Vitastiq app.

My Vitastiq readings seem irregular. What should I do?

In case of irregular readings, you should repeat the calibration step to make sure that you have accurately determined the reference point. If your results are still irregular, please contact us at support@vitastiq.com and we will send additional tips to you.

Can I add new vitamins or minerals to the Vitastiq app?

Currently, the Vitastiq app does not offer such an option.

How long does it take to get the readings for all 26 vitamins and minerals?

Vitastiq is a product that requires a certain learning process. Initially, the readings will take longer (approximately 5 min for 10 vitamins), but with frequent use the time required will improve.

Can I receive a phone call while using Vitastiq?

If you are using Vitastiq 1st edition (connected to your smartphone with an audio cable) and you receive a phone call while using it, it’s necessary to disconnect the Vitastiq pen from your phone in order to accept the call. When the call ends, connect the audio cable back into your smartphone and you can continue.

If you’re using Vitastiq 2 or Vitastiq Family (connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth), when you take the incoming call, Vitastiq will stop. When the call ends, you can continue using your Vitastiq.

Can I make my own vitamin and mineral template?

Yes. The app offers an option to create a template with vitamins and minerals (of the 26 on the list) you wish to track.

Open the Vitastiq app > go to Template section > select Add New > choose vitamins and minerals > enter the template name > select Save > select your newly created template from the template list if you want to use it.

You can also create and edit your templates in the user web portal My.Vitastiq.com . When you login (with the same account as in the Vitastiq app), in the upper left menu, you will find the Templates section.

I do not know my blood type. Is this information important for the readings?

The blood type is not important for your readings. You can skip that field.

Why the blue LED isn’t on when I connect my Vitastiq1 with the cable to my smartphone?

The LED light is on only when Vitastiq 1st edition is in contact with the skin while in measuring mode. First open the Vitastiq app, then connect your Vitastiq1 to your smartphone with the enclosed audio cable.

The blue light will be on only when the tip of the Vitastiq pen is in touch with your skin.

How long does it take to calibrate?

During calibration, Vitastiq must be in continuous contact with the skin for about 12 seconds while you are moving the tip of the pen along your thumb (as shown on the screen).

My Vitastiq cable (1st edition) is not working properly. The LED light is either constantly on or it’s not working at all. What should I do?

Please adjust your iPhone Settings for Vitastiq:

  1. Settings > Vitastiq > Allow Vitastiq to access: MICROPHONE > turn ON
  2. Settings > Sounds > Ringer and alerts: adjust to the max
  3. Settings > Sounds > Ringer and alerts: Change with Buttons > turn ON
  4. Settings > Music (or iPod) > EQ > OFF
  5. Settings > Music (or iPod) > Volume Limit > OFF (adjust to the max)
  6. Settings > Music (or iPod) > Sound Check > turn OFF
  7. Settings > General > Accessibility > Mono Audio > turn OFF
  8. Settings > General > Accessibility > ‘Adjust the audio volume balance between left and right channels’ – adjust in the CENTER

* Check again if the volume level is on the max after taping on “Start” using the button on the side of your iPhone.
* Make sure the audio socket is clean (there is no dirt or dust to interfere with the connection)
* Try to restart your iPhone – completely turn it off, then turn it back on after a few seconds.

Please adjust your Android device Settings for Vitastiq:

  1. Sounds or Volume (Multimedia) – turn to MAX (or adjust manually with ‘+’ button)
  2. Application Manager > Vitastiq – allow access to MICROPHONE (turn ON)
  3. Audio BALANCE between left & right channel – set to CENTER
  4. Mono Sound OFF / Stereo Sound ON
  5. Make sure MUTE is not on ​
  6. Turn off any application that is using phone’s audio or mic (disable it from working even in the background)

* Check again if the volume level is on the max after taping on “Start” using the button on the side of your smartphone.
* Make sure the audio socket is clean (there is no dirt or dust to interfere with the connection)
* Try to restart your smartphone – completely turn it off, then turn it back on after a few seconds.

How to charge the battery on Vitastiq 1st edition?

The battery inside the Vitastiq that is using the audio cable is Lithium-Metal which cannot be recharged. It has a life of approximately 1000 hours of active constant use, or 10 to 15 years of regular, weekly use.

The blue LED is not on when I use my Vitastiq 1st edition.

Here are some tips if you cannot get your Vitastiq 1st edition to work properly:

  1. You can try to press-and-turn the tip of the Vitastiq pen several times quickly with your finger to make sure all the contacts adhere correctly.
  2. Enable the microphone for the Vitastiq app (phone Settings> All apps> Vitastiq app> Allow Vitastiq to acccess: Microphone).
  3. Adjust Headphones/Headsets/Audio volume to maximum by pressing the + button on the side of your phone (enable this function in Settings > Sounds > Ringer & Alerts > Change with Buttons ON)
  4. Check the cable connectivity. Remove any phone cover/case so the audio cable is connected properly.
  5. Reinstall the Vitastiq app and restart your phone.
  6. Try using Vitastiq with another smartphone to see if it’s working properly.

My Vitastiq app doesn’t lead me to the next measuring point.

The next measuring point can be set to AUTO or MANUAL. In the manual mode, you need to tap on the vitamin or mineral bar to get to the next measuring point, whereas the auto mode goes automatically to the next measuring point. Make sure to check the Settings in your Vitastiq app.

If it’s set to auto mode and still doesn’t lead to the next point, try to restart the Vitastiq app. Also, logout and login again to the app.

What NOT to do while using Vitastiq?

  • Do not hold the smartphone in your hand. Your phone shouldn’t be in contact with your skin while you are using Vitastiq.
  • Do not charge your smartphone while using Vitastiq.
  • Do not use Vitastiq on a metal surface as this can interfere with electrical conductivity.

What if I lost my QR code or never received it ?

No worries, your QR code is tied to your email address in our records when you placed your order. Simply click HERE, enter the email address you used during the purchase of your Vitastiq and you will receive your QR code in your inbox.

Why do I need to register my Vitastiq?

The registration QR code you received on an enclosed card or by email is an identification number for your Vitastiq. In order to keep your readings and profile data on our cloud servers secure, and to provide you with the best advice in accordance with your country’s regulations, Vitastiq needs to link your QR code to your account and device. At Vitastiq we take security seriously and keep your personal data safe. Registration can also bring you benefits during our local promotions.

Does Vitastiq work with any Android and iPhone?

The Vitastiq application was originally made for Vitastiq 1st edition (with an audio cable) to work with Android OS 4.0 and iOS 6.0. With the new app upgrades, Vitastiq works with Android devices working on the OS version 4.3 or newer, and with iPhones and iPads with the iOS version 9.0 or newer.

Please check if your smartphone supports Bluetooth 4.0 for Vitastiq 2 and Vitastiq Family.

It seems my Vitastiq is losing contact while I’m using it. Is it broken?

If your skin is very dry, then its resistance is very high, which means that the conductivity is very low and Vitastiq can’t complete the electrical circuit. It will seem like your Vitastiq pen is losing contact because the indicator on the screen is unstable and the light keeps flickering while in touch with the skin.

To increase the conductivity of your skin (and decrease the resistance), please keep it moist – dampen the tip of the Vitastiq pen using a wet cotton pad before calibrating and before touching each acupuncture point (as shown in video tutorials).

Is Vitastiq compatible with any smartphone?

Vitastiq is compatible with Android (smartphones and tablets) OS 4.3 or newer and iOS (iPhone and iPad) OS 9.0 or newer.
Only devices supporting Bluetooth 4.0 or newer (BLE 4.0) can connect to Vitastiq2 and VitastiqFamily.

Message: ‘Please remove the Vitastiq pen from your skin to proceed.’

If the app keeps displaying the message: Please remove the Vitastiq pen from your skin to proceed, while the tip is not touching your skin, stop the process, logout and login again to the app.

I cannot activate my Vitastiq2

Press the tip of the Vitastiq pen to activate it. The blue LED will start blinking. If the light doesn’t come on, please reset your Vitastiq.
To reset your Vitastiq: connect it with the enclosed usb cable to a charger (to the power source) and wait till the LED turnes on and starts blinking. Then, disconnct it from the charger, activate it and pair with your phone.

To pair your active Vitastiq with your phone, the Bluetooth on your phone must be turned on.

The blue LED will automatically turn off after 1 minute of inactivity.

I don’t see my Vitastiq2 in my iPhone settings

Vitastiq2 pairs to an iPhone through Vitastiq app (not through your phone settings).

First, activate your Vitastiq – press the tip to get the blue LED blinking.
Open the Vitastiq app, go to Settings > Select Vitastiq. If active, your Vitastiq will be listed. When you tap on it, the blue check mark will appear.

How to charge the battery on Vitastiq 2?

The battery inside the Vitastiq 2 is Lithium-Ion, which is rechargeable.

Use only the supplied USB cable when charging your Vitastiq device. Connect the autio end of the cable to the Vitastiq pen, and other, usb end to a charger (to the power source).

Your battery’s lifespan will vary depending on how you use your device. Vitastiq battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its initial capacity at 500 complete charge cycles.
Vitastiq needs discharging and charging once in 3 to 6 months, in order to maintain a good battery performance and to prevent over-discharge.

Specifications:

Standard charging voltage: 4.2 V
Standard charging current: 0,375 A

Vitastiq Family consists of Vitastiq 2 (Vitastiq pen) and the additional sonde. The sonde doesn’t contain a battery and it doesn’t need charging.

Maintenance and proper use of the Vitastiq product

Do not bend or damage the cable. This can cause an electric shock or fire.
Do not touch the power cord with wet hands or disconnect charger by pulling the cable. This can cause an electric shock.
The battery has a built-in protection circuit.
Putting any battery directly into the trash is dangerous for the environment and for those who live in it. Dispose of the product responsibly. DO NOT discard the product along with your household waste. A crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates that the battery should not be placed in the household waste. Instead, it shall be handed over to the appropriate collection point for the recycling of batteries. Follow your local regulations for proper disposal of the used Li-Ion and Li-Metal batteries or devices.

The battery replacement shall be done only by the device supplier and never by the user.

Precautions

Do not charge the Vitastiq2 when the temperature is below 0°C or above 40°C (Celsius).
Avoid any mechanical or electrical damage to the product.
Store in a dry environment, at room temperature (20-25°C).
Keep away from heat, avoid prolonged sun exposure.
